Privacy Policy — Pill Reminder
Effective date: 2026-10-23
Who we are
Pill Reminder (Android package com.chiriq.pillreminder, version 1.0.11) is published on Google Play under the developer name Chiriq Studio. The data controller is:

This policy explains what happens to data when you use Pill Reminder. It is published at https://dr-selva.com/apps/pillreminder/privacy.
Summary
- Your health data stays on your phone. Your medications, doses, times, notes and history are stored only on your device. We never receive them, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
- There is no account, no login and no server of ours. You don't sign up, and we don't run any server for this app.
- Third parties handle ads and some app services. Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads and Liftoff Monetize show ads. Google Firebase helps us understand usage, fix crashes, update settings and send optional notifications. Google Play Billing and RevenueCat handle purchases.
- You decide. In the EEA/UK we ask for your consent before personalised ads, analytics, crash reports and remote settings. Push notifications are off until you turn them on. You can change your choices at any time.
- This is a reminder tool, not a medical device.
Data stored only on your device
Everything you enter stays on your device in a local SQLite database:
- medication names
- doses
- reminder times
- notes
- the history of doses you marked as taken or skipped
The app does not send this data anywhere, and we never collect it. If you uninstall the app, Android deletes it.
Reminders. Reminders are local notifications and alarms that the app schedules on your device. They work without an internet connection, and no reminder content leaves your phone.
Android permissions. The app uses these permissions only to make reminders work:
- SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: to ring reminders at the exact time you set.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: to show reminder notifications and, only if you agree, the optional push notifications described below.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: to restore your reminders after the phone restarts.
- VIBRATE: to vibrate when a reminder fires.
- WAKE_LOCK: to wake the device briefly so a reminder is delivered on time.
Install referrer (optional invites). If you install the app from a friend's invite link, the app reads the Google Play Install Referrer on your device once, on the first start. This value is read locally and is not sent to us. The app uses it to give you a short ad-free period.
Data processed by third-party services
The app's own code makes no network requests. The services below are built into the app as software kits (SDKs). They send data directly to their providers, and each provider processes it under its own privacy policy.
Google AdMob (ads)
Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) shows a banner ad and an optional rewarded ad. You choose whether to watch the rewarded ad, for example to remove ads for a while.
According to Google's disclosure, the SDK collects:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location
- product interactions, such as app launches, taps and ad views
- diagnostic information about performance
- device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and app set ID
The data is encrypted in transit (TLS). It is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention.
Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Ad mediation: Unity Ads and Liftoff Monetize
Google AdMob is not the only ad provider in this app. Through Google AdMob mediation, the app can also load ads from these networks.
Unity Ads (Unity Ads SDK). According to Unity's Google Play data-safety disclosure, the SDK collects and shares:
- IP address (approximate location)
- app interactions: ad views and taps, plus app usage time only when Unity's Acquire Optimization is on
- diagnostics
- device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and app set ID
- user IDs (personal identifiers)
- purchase history
The data is encrypted in transit. It is used for advertising, analytics, app functionality and fraud prevention. You can ask Unity to delete your data.
Privacy policy: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
Liftoff Monetize (formerly Vungle; Vungle Ads SDK). According to Liftoff's Google Play data-safety disclosure, the SDK collects and shares:
- IP address (approximate location)
- app interactions with ads
- diagnostics and crash logs of the ad SDK
- device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and app set ID
The data is encrypted in transit. It is used for advertising, analytics and app functionality. You can ask Liftoff to delete your data.
Privacy policy: https://liftoff.io/privacy-policy/
Consent: Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
Where consent is required (EEA/UK), the app shows Google's consent dialog (User Messaging Platform) before ads are personalised and before the consent-based Firebase services below are used. Unity Ads and Liftoff Monetize are listed among the ad partners in this same dialog, so one choice covers all ad networks. You can change your choice at any time in the app's privacy options form.
Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics)
This service records how the app is used, such as which features and screens are used and how the purchase flow is used. It also uses a per-installation Firebase app instance ID.
- The data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- We use it only to understand and improve the app.
- In the EEA/UK it is collected only after you consent in the Google consent dialog.
- Advertising personalisation is not enabled for it, and we do not link it to a person.
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects:
- crash logs: stack traces and the app state at the moment of the crash
- diagnostic device metadata: model, OS version, memory and disk state
- a Crashlytics installation ID, which only counts how many users a crash affects
The data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We use it only to find and fix crashes. Pill Reminder is a health-category app, so in the EEA/UK crash reports are sent only after you consent.
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Firebase Remote Config (app settings)
Firebase Remote Config downloads app settings from Google servers. These are values of feature switches and limits that the app checks against a fixed list. To do this it uses a per-installation Firebase installation ID.
- It collects no other data, and no user content is sent.
- The data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and is used for app functionality.
- In the EEA/UK settings are downloaded only after you consent. Until then, the app uses the defaults shipped with it.
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Firebase Cloud Messaging (optional push notifications)
Push notifications are off until you agree in the app. If you turn them on, the app subscribes to a Firebase Cloud Messaging topic named after the app, your device language and a coarse time-zone band (one of four). This lets us send messages to that topic through a Google API.
Our limits:
- at most 2 notifications per week
- only during daytime hours
- only generic text about the app's own features, never personal or health data
How it works:
- Our code never reads, stores or sends a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token.
- We keep no list of users or devices, and we run no server for this.
- According to Google's disclosure, Firebase Cloud Messaging uses the app version for the topic subscription.
- It relies on the Firebase installations SDK, which creates a per-installation identifier (Firebase installation ID) that does not uniquely identify a user or device.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
You can turn push notifications off at any time in the app, which unsubscribes the topic. You can also block the notification channel in Android settings.
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Play Billing (payments)
Payments for subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. We never see your card or payment details.
Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
RevenueCat (purchase verification and invites)
RevenueCat receives your purchase history to verify which features you have unlocked. This includes subscription and one-time purchase receipts and an anonymous app user ID. Data is encrypted in transit.
Optional invites. You can create an invite link on your device and share it yourself through the system share sheet. If someone installs the app through your link:
- the app stores one non-personal attribute in RevenueCat: a referral code derived from the anonymous RevenueCat app user ID
- after a verified purchase by the invited person, you, the inviter, may receive a few days of Premium
No names, e-mail addresses, contacts or phone numbers are collected, and we run no server for this.

Advertising ID and how to reset or delete it
The Android advertising ID is a resettable identifier used by the ad SDKs listed above. You control it in Android settings. Menu names can differ slightly by phone maker.
- Android 12 and newer: Settings → Privacy (or Security & privacy) → Ads → Delete advertising ID. After you delete it, apps receive a string of zeros instead of an ID.
- Older Android versions: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID, or turn on Opt out of Ads Personalization.
You can also change your ad consent at any time in the app's privacy options form, which is powered by Google's consent dialog.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Personalised ads (AdMob, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), collected through the Google consent dialog where required. Fraud prevention and delivering non-personalised ads rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Purchases (Google Play Billing, RevenueCat): performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in verifying purchases (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): your consent where required (EEA/UK). Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in improving the app.
- Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): your consent in the EEA/UK, because this is a health-category app. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in app stability.
- Remote settings (Firebase Remote Config): your consent in the EEA/UK, because this is a health-category app. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in providing app functionality.
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging): your consent, given in the app before any subscription.
- Invites (RevenueCat referral code): performance of a contract, meaning granting the promised ad-free period and Premium days, and our legitimate interest in running the invite programme.
You can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew.
Retention
- Data on your device: kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
- Install referrer: read once on the first start and not sent to us.
- Data processed by third parties (Google, Unity, Liftoff, RevenueCat): kept by those providers according to their own privacy policies linked above.
- Push topic subscription: lasts until you turn push notifications off or uninstall the app.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data
- correct it
- delete it
- restrict processing
- data portability
- object to processing based on legitimate interest
- withdraw consent at any time
How to request deletion or any other right. Write to kontakt@dr-selva.com and say what you want. We hold no account, name or e-mail linked to app data, so we may ask for details that help locate records, such as your Google Play order number for purchase records. We will then act with the relevant providers. You can also request deletion directly from Unity and Liftoff through their privacy policies.
Data on your device. You control it fully. Delete entries in the app or uninstall it.
Complaints. You can lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority: Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (Prezes UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, https://uodo.gov.pl.
Children
Pill Reminder is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA. The target audience is adults 18+. We do not knowingly process children's data. If you believe a child has used the app and data was processed by a third-party service, contact us at kontakt@dr-selva.com.
Security
Your medication data never leaves your device. It is stored in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. Data sent by the third-party SDKs (Google AdMob, Unity Ads, Liftoff Monetize, Firebase, RevenueCat) is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS).
Health disclaimer
Pill Reminder is a reminder tool only. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions. Do not rely on the app as your only way to remember critical medication. Health and medication information you enter stays on your device and is not collected by us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or the services it uses change. The new version will be published at https://dr-selva.com/apps/pillreminder/privacy with a new effective date. If changes need your consent, we will ask for it in the app.
